Official lottery
The official lottery of the state of North Dakota is operated by the ND Lottery Commission and is responsible for the administration, regulation, enforcement, and promotion of the lottery. The North Dakota Lottery encourages players to play responsibly and not spend more than they can afford. If you or someone you know has a gambling problem, call 2-1-1, GamblerND in North Dakota, or Gamblers Anonymous.
Why play the lottery?
Experts say the main reason people play the lottery is because of hope. “People like to think they can win, and that’s one of the things that makes it popular,” says Dave Gulley, an economist at Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts.
Gulley also points out that playing the lottery can provide a sense of community, especially for people who don’t live near each other. He notes that some people play the lottery each week or even every time they visit the store.
How it works
The lottery usually picks a set of numbers, and if those numbers match the ones on your lottery ticket, you win some of the money that you spent. If you don’t match the numbers, you get nothing.
The NH Lottery offers a variety of games with different prize amounts and jackpots. Some of the games include: KENO 603, UNO, MAGIC 8 BALL, Premier 7’s, Xtreme Multiplier and more! You can purchase lottery tickets at any Lottery retailer. You can also find Lottery retailers at the NH Lottery website, or you can download the app for free!
